Clouds

The oldest thread in my photography. I ran a site called focus on the clouds for years, and I never really stopped. Storm towers, crepuscular rays, and the ordinary spectacular weather that happens above parking lots. The first frame here is from 2003; the last is recent. Same sky.

A storm front carving a dark diagonal across deep blue, the original focus on the clouds frame
Broken cumulus against cobalt, the day after a storm
A gold-lit cloud bank crossing a gray sky
A violet cloud deck from above at dusk, sunset banding the horizon
A sunburst behind a dark cloud, rays fanning across the sky
Cumulus towers breaking through a haze layer, seen from a plane
Crepuscular rays fanning over a mountain valley at dusk
The sun buried in a storm anvil over the Caribbean
A dark shelf cloud rolling in over a pale beach
A cobalt hole punched through sculpted cumulus
Crepuscular rays bursting from behind a cumulus crown
Sun breaking around a dark cloud edge, rays sweeping down the sky
A cloud wall in profile, sculpted by wind
A thunderhead catching fire at sunset
A rain column dropping from cumulus far out at sea
